Terms and Conditions
The agreement between you, TaskHub AI and the professionals you hire.
1. Who we are
TaskHub AI ("TaskHub AI", "the platform", "we") operates an online marketplace that connects customers in St. Joseph, Missouri and surrounding areas with independent local service professionals ("providers"). By creating an account, browsing, booking or providing services through the platform you accept these Terms and Conditions.
TaskHub AI is a technology intermediary. We are not a construction company, cleaning company, plumbing company, repair shop or employer of any provider. We do not perform the services listed on the platform.
2. How the marketplace works
- The customer describes what they need, compares available providers and requests a booking with a date, time and address.
- The provider receives the request and accepts or declines it.
- Once accepted, the customer pays the total amount of the booking through the platform. TaskHub AI holds that payment as an intermediary.
- The provider performs the service.
- After the service is marked complete, TaskHub AI deducts its commission and releases the remaining balance to the provider.
- The customer may leave a rating and a review.
The contract for the service itself is formed directly between the customer and the provider. TaskHub AI facilitates discovery, communication, scheduling, payment collection and dispute mediation.
3. Eligibility and your account
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into contracts. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information in your account, for keeping your password confidential and for all activity performed under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.
One person may hold one customer account and, if approved, one provider account. Creating duplicate or fraudulent accounts is grounds for immediate termination.
4. Customer responsibilities
- Provide an accurate address, accurate access instructions and an accurate description of the work required.
- Be present or make the property accessible at the scheduled time.
- Provide a safe working environment (for example, restrain pets and clear the work area).
- Pay the agreed amount through the platform. Paying a provider directly in cash or off-platform is a violation of these Terms and voids all platform protections, including dispute mediation and refunds.
- Report any problem within 7 calendar days of the scheduled service so that it can be mediated.
5. Provider responsibilities
- Providers are independent contractors, not employees, agents or partners of TaskHub AI.
- Providers must hold and maintain every license, permit, certification and insurance policy required by the State of Missouri, Buchanan County and the City of St. Joseph for the services they offer.
- Providers are solely responsible for the quality, safety, legality and timeliness of their work, for their own tools and materials, and for anyone they bring to a job.
- Providers are solely responsible for reporting and paying their own federal, state and local taxes. TaskHub AI does not withhold taxes.
- Providers must honor the price and scope shown on the platform at the time of booking. Additional work must be agreed with the customer in writing through the platform before it is performed.
- Providers must not solicit customers to pay or continue the relationship outside the platform.
6. Prices, payments and commission
Prices are set by each provider and shown before booking. The customer pays the total shown at checkout. TaskHub AI retains a service commission calculated as a percentage of the booking total, and the provider receives the remainder. The commission percentage depends on the service category and is published on the Payments and Commission Policy page.
Example: on a $100 booking with a 15% commission, TaskHub AI retains $15 and the provider receives $85. See the Payments and Commission Policy for full detail, including current rates.
7. Cancellations and refunds
Cancellations and refunds are governed by the Cancellation and Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms. In summary: cancelling more than 24 hours before the scheduled start is fully refundable; cancelling within 24 hours may incur a fee of up to 50% of the booking total; and if the provider does not show up or cancels, the customer receives a 100% refund.
8. What happens if a provider does not complete the service
If the provider does not show up, abandons the job, or the work delivered is materially different from what was booked, the customer must open a dispute in the Dispute Center within 7 calendar days of the scheduled service. Until the dispute is resolved, TaskHub AI holds the funds and does not release them to the provider.
Possible outcomes: a full refund, a partial refund proportional to the work actually delivered, or a rescheduled completion of the job at no additional cost. Repeated failures result in loss of the verified badge, suspension or permanent removal from the platform.
9. Disputes between users
TaskHub AI provides a Dispute Center where customers and providers can report a problem. We review the booking record, the in-app messages, photos and any evidence submitted, and we may request additional information. Our decision determines how the funds we hold are distributed; it does not limit any legal right either party may have against the other.
10. Reviews and content
Reviews must reflect a genuine experience with a completed booking. Fake, incentivized, retaliatory or offensive reviews will be removed. You keep ownership of the photos and text you upload, and you grant TaskHub AI a non-exclusive licence to display them on the platform in connection with the relevant booking, provider or review.
11. Prohibited conduct
- Offering or requesting illegal services, or work that requires a licence the provider does not hold.
- Arranging payment outside the platform to avoid the commission.
- Harassment, threats, discrimination, hate speech or violence toward any user or staff member.
- Misrepresenting your identity, qualifications, licences or insurance.
- Uploading content that is obscene, infringing, or that reveals another person’s private information.
- Scraping, reverse engineering, overloading or attempting to gain unauthorized access to the platform.
- Using the platform to send spam or unsolicited advertising.
We may remove content, suspend an account or terminate access at any time for a violation of these Terms, and we may refuse to release funds associated with fraudulent activity.
12. Suspension and termination
You may close your account at any time. Closing an account does not cancel bookings already in progress, obligations already incurred, or open disputes. TaskHub AI may suspend or terminate an account for policy violations, repeated no-shows, fraud, safety concerns or legal requirements, and will state the reason. Suspended providers are hidden from search and cannot accept new bookings.
13. Disclaimers
The platform is provided "as is" and "as available". We verify the information providers submit to a reasonable commercial standard, but we do not guarantee the outcome, quality, safety or legality of any service, nor the truthfulness of any listing or review. Availability, prices and search results may change. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access.
14. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, TaskHub AI is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, nor for loss of profit, data, property or goodwill arising from a service performed or not performed by a provider. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability to you for any claim is limited to the greater of (a) the commission we retained on the booking giving rise to the claim, or (b) one hundred US dollars ($100).
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for fraud, willful misconduct, or any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
15. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold TaskHub AI harmless from claims, damages, losses and reasonable legal fees arising from your use of the platform, your breach of these Terms, or, if you are a provider, from the services you perform.
16. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that is not resolved through the Dispute Center will be brought before the state or federal courts located in Buchanan County, Missouri.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced in the app or by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the platform after that date means you accept the updated Terms.
18. Contact
Questions about these Terms can be sent through the Contact page. Include your booking reference if your question is about a specific job.
Template for review, not legal advice
This document was prepared as a working template for a US marketplace with intermediated payments. The percentages, time windows and tax statements are configurable defaults and must be reviewed by a licensed attorney in your state before the platform processes real payments.
